Mother Sumitra: Her Selfless Superior Sacrifice

RAMAYANA REVELATION DAY 3
Mother Sumitra: Her Selfless Superior Sacrifice
# In Ramayana, two persons have specially been glorified as Guru, one being Hanuman ji and the other is Mother Sumitra. This is particularly pointed out when Laxman ji comes to Mother Sumitra to inform and take permission for accompanying Sri Rama to the forest.
# Unexpectedly, Mother Sumitra addresses Laxman ji supportively. She emphasizes that Sri Laxman has been begotten as a child so that he can serve His elder brother, The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Shri Rama, especially, during the trial and tribulations of Vanvasa.
# Laxman ji was dumbfounded to hear this and could not respond back because of the her mother's extra ordinary love of Lord Rama, her spirit, enthusiasm, selflessness and sacrifice.
# Sumitra reveals her extraordinary qualities of showing remarkable magnanimity, forbearance, detachment, and to render the wise counsel to Laxmana at the right time
# Mother Sumitra is a Guru for all of us in the true sense of the word. By her personal example she offered the most cherished object of her affection i.e. her son in service of Supreme Personality of Godhead.

MORAL: Mother Sumitra, emphasized the purpose of human birth i.e. to be in constant service of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, no matter whether it means serving in palace or forest.
