Thinking ......

Aishu mummy in deep thinking. Why I came here sangareddy from Sydney? What is this marriage stuff? What these people doing here? Do they need to spend this much time, energy n money to have fun? Arya n I have fun in our garden only. If its not fun n if its about gathering, yeah we do gather with Deepu, Siri, Lucky,Srini,Adya n with all our friends at our home. But v don't have these big preparations. If it's not about above stuff n if it's about Tradition/Culture(Sampradayam/Samskruthi) Santhu mama quotes from scriptures,

Harer nama harer nama
Harer nama eva kevalam
Kalau nasteva nasteva
Nasteva gatir anyathi

It means " Hari Nam/ Hari katha / Hari Seva" is the only tradition/service/culture of mankind.

But no one says Harinam here. Every one is gossiping.

So what is these big marriage preparations about?
Can anyone explain it to me?

Ok fine. If you say we cant explain but its all about relationships n etc. That's fine but while doing these preparations what's your problem if you listen to Harinama. Papam santhu mama is playing Hare Krishna Maha Mantra on Mantra box, why are you stopping that as soon as he leaves the room. I love Harinama. I think not only me everyone loves Harinama. Why don't we do the things which are helpful to us in long run, we know from scriptures

Trinadapi sunichena
Tarorapi sahisnuna
Amanina manadena
Kirtaniya sadahari

We can chant Kannayya's nama/bhajana/poems/rhymes anytime, anywhere n anyhow. There is no restrictions at all. So why dont we follow " Kirtaniya Sadahari"?

And we know that "Hrisikena Hrisikesa Sevanam" - why don't we engage all our senses in serving the master of senses?

I got it now. I think that's why Sri Chaitanya Maha prabhu said following in his Sikshastakam

namnam akari bahudha nija-sarva-shaktis
tatrarpita niyamitah smarane na kalah
etadrishi tava kripa bhagavan mamapi
durdaivam idrisham ihajani nanuragaha

O my Lord, Your holy name alone can render all benediction to living beings, and thus You have hundreds and millions of names like Krishna and Govinda. In these transcendental names You have invested all Your transcendental energies. There are not even hard and fast rules for chanting these names. O my Lord, out of kindness You enable us to easily approach You by Your holy names, but I am so unfortunate that I have no attraction for them.

Seriously how unfortunate we are- we have interest for movies/games/politics/food .... the list goes on. If not always atleas some part of the day can we chant Harinama? Yes we can.

Yay santhu mama started doing pooja. I will join him. We will sing n dance and offer water, flowers n dhoop stick to Sri Sri RadhaGopivallabha and Tulasi mata.

You all who ever is reading this can u please spend at least 10 mins of your time in chanting MahaMantra.

You may say I dont know MahaMantra. I know here it is for your benefit

Hare Krishna Hare Krishna
Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama
Rama Rama Hare Hare.

Okay
Have a happy Krishna Conscious day.

Haribol.

Arya anna wait I am coming.

*25 Life Lessons from Ramayana*

*Power of Bad Association*: It was a known fact in Ayodhya that Kaikeyi loved Lord Rama more than his own son Bharath, then how could she become so evil. It is by her bad association with Mantara.

*Attachment to service & not to the position*: Lord Ram was willing to become the king as a service to Maharaj Dasarath and He was also willing to go to the forest as a service to His father.

*Mission of Life should be to vanquish the demoniac tendencies in our heart:* Lord Ram’s purpose to kill the demons was fulfilled by His banishment to the forest.

*Even extreme reversals if taken in the proper spirit will help us fulfill our mission in life:* For example, Law of gravity is only in effect in the Earth’s sphere and not beyond. So also Laws of material nature act only in material consciousness not in spiritual consciousness.

*Ram or Aaram, A test for every seeker*: Citizens of Ayodhya wanted to go with Lord Ram to forest and leave behind all the comforts (Aaram) of the City Ayodhya.

*Alertness in Spiritual Life*: Lord Ram leaves Ayodhyavasis when they were asleep. If one is inattentive or lazy, one will loose taste in Bhakti.

*(Sometimes) Saintly persons might cause pain to others not to hurt them but benefit them:* Bharat disowns Kaikeyi, or Prahlad disregards Hiranyakashipu, a Doctor may cause pain (operation) to patient to cure him.Goal is to please the Lord: For Bharat, he wanted to stay in the forest which was easier than to return and rule the Kingdom but he did it to please Lord Ram.

*Lord is the Proprietor*: Bhoktaram Yajna tapasam (Bhagavad Gita 5.29). Bharat was ruling the kingdom on Lord Ram’s behalf by keeping the Paduka’s on the Throne. We are only caretakers, He is the real proprietor, He can give and take away. The Caretaker acts according to the will of the owner.

*Anybody can make a show of greatness*: The reversals test us who we are. When Lakshmana cuts Surpanaka’s nose, gone was the charming form, gone was the facade and then the real ugly form manifested. One’s greatness is tested by one’s ability to tolerate provoking situations.

*Bhakti (Sita) cannot be achieved by Deception:* Ravana wanted to kidnap Sitadevi by deception, but he gets Maya-Sita at the end. Greed and lust are never satiated, they lead to arrogance and envy.Attachments can creates traps and make us suffer: Marichi takes up a golden dear form to which Sitadevi developed deep attachment to have it and thus trapped Sitadevi. We should see the substance through the eyes of the scripture. Marichi was all about false promises. For example, spider web is most attractive to the fly but actually it’s a trap.

*Maya knows our weaknesses:* She can make our strength into weaknesses and take us away from the circle of instructions of great souls. Ravana uses Sitadevi’s jnana attitude to serve great souls to disobey Lakshmana.

*Always stand by the Right*: Jatayu’s integrity. Real success is to please the Lord. Jatayu lost his life fighting for Lord Ram but achieved the purpose of Life to please the Lord. It is better to lose & win than to win & lose.

*Patience, Determination & Enthusiasm*: Example of Shabari. Long time ago, Guru had asked her to wait for Lord Ram while all other disciples and Guru himself went back to Godhead. She showed her enthusiasm by working hard everyday to clean the place, plucking flowers & fruits for the Lord. She had complete faith in the words of Guru and patiently waited with determination.

*The Lord reveals only when He wants.Honesty, We can’t put a facade before the Lord:* Hanumanji disguises when he went to meet Lord Ram. Lord knows within who we are, we have to be honest to receive the mercy of the Lord. Lord Ram didn’t speak to Hanuman for four months.

*Obstacles on the path of Bhakti*: The demons who came to stop Hanuman during his jumping across the ocean. Mainaka (Gold Mountain) – temptation to seek comfort before achieving our real purpose. Simhika (Shadow catching demoness) – While striving for Bhakti, people will chastise, criticize and misunderstand us, we should have the willingness to tolerate. Surasa (Serpent): Being envious of people in higher position and try to stop their progress. This is jealousy of the mind. By devotional service, we have to devour Simhika who represents Envy.

*Arrogance cannot understand wellwishers:* The world is a mirror of our own consciousness. Ravana was thinking Mandodari was envious of Sita, but actually he was envious of Lord Ram. Ravana was thinking Vibhisana was disloyal and taking the side of Lord Ram, but he was disloyal to Kubera, his cousin brother. When we think we know, we are not willing to listen to good counsel. Spiritual progress means simplicity and humility. If they are lacking, we won’t listen thinking that we know better, that was Ravana.

*Big or Small, we can swim the ocean of Samsara by chanting Lord Ram’s holy name*: Big or Small, all the stones floated by writing Lord Ram’s name.Pride or Attachment leads to loss of intelligence: dhyayato visayan pumsah (Bhagavad Gita 2.62). Every stage of this sloka was exhibited by Ravana. Loss of intelligence – Even when all his stalwart warriors including Kumbakarna, Indrajit died but he still didn’t give up.

*Hearing about the Lord – Revival of dormant love:* Lord Ram being Paramatma in the heart of everyone including Ravana could have killed him just by turning off Ravana’s heart. But the Lord and His pleasure potency Sitadevi went through this whole ordeal so that we can hear about the Lord and revive our dormant love.

*Righteousness*: Vibhishana comes to take shelter of Lord Ram, all the monkeys were against, except Hanumanji. Vibhishana was willing to be misunderstood or even chastised to surrender to the Lord.

*Counsel and Advise in battle against Illusion*: In battle against Illusion, at every stage association of devotees to put us straight without which we will fall. Lord Ram doesn’t need but takes the counsel of Vibhishana.

*Grace of a Sadhu needed to kill demons within:* Agastya muni had given a divine arrow to Lord Ram. That arrow was used by Lord Ram to kill Ravan by piercing his heart.

*Welcoming the Lord in hearts with lamps*: That is Dipavali festival. Lord Ram is welcomed back into Ayodhya with lamps. Dipavali is not just physical fire but lighting the hearts with light of Lord’s grace and process of devotional service. When heart is fully illuminated, then we can experience Lord Ram within ourself. When our love awakens, in that love, compassion for all living beings awakens. Then Ramrajya is awakened within the heart and then without (i.e. out in the world). Jai Shree Ram!!

Maryada Purshottama Lord Ramachandra: The symbol of perfection.

RAMAYANA REVELATION DAY 10
Maryada Purshottama Lord Ramachandra: The symbol of perfection.
# A famous mantra of Lord Rama which explains how different living entities related to Him and how the Lord revealed Himself according to the relation. It was composed by Vaishta Muni and discussed between Mother Parvati and Lord Shiva in the Padma purana (Uma Maheswara Samvada 254-61). Mother Parvathi Devi keeps chanting this mantra always even in her sleep and this makes her very dear to Lord Shiva, who is the topmost Vaishnava.
raamaaya raama bhadraaya raamachandraaya vedase
raghunaathaaya naathaaya seethaaya pathaye namah

# Raamaaya:- For Dasaratha, He is dear "Raama". Although He was named Ramachandra, Dasaratha had the privilege of calling him affectionately as "Raama". It shows the closeness in relationship between father and son.
# Raamabhadraaya:- For spiritual seekers, Lord Rama is the bestower of the desired benedictions according to their desire. And for his pure devotees, He gives the most auspicious benediction which is entry into spiritual world. So the scriptures advise all spiritual seekers to worship Lord Rama and since He blesses them with auspiciousness according to their approach for them, He is Ramabhadra ('Bhadra' means auspiciousness).
# Raama Chandraaya:- For mother Kausalya, Kaikeyi and other women, He was Ramachandra because His beauty was pleasing like moon. The Ramayana states 'chandra kanthaananam raamam atiiva priya darshanam' - Lord Rama's face is like that of the moon and very pleasing to those who see Him.
#Vedhase:- For great sages like Jamadagni, Vasishta, Viswamitra etc., the Lord revelaed Himself as the Supreme Absolute truth, Ultimate Reality (para tattva). More than being the son of Dasarata and Kousalya’ they realized Him as the creator of everything. Therefore they address Him as 'vedhase', - the omniscient creator.
# Raghunaathaya:- According to the subjects of Ayodhya, Rama is an excellent king. So they saw Him as the best of Kings of Raghu vamsa (Raghunatha).
# Naathaaya:- 'naatha' means husband or master. Mother Sita saw Him as her beloved husband and eternal consort. And devotees like Hanumanji, Sugreeva, Vibheeshana, Jambavan, Guha etc., saw Him as their eternal master and Lord.
# Sitaayah pathaye:- For the subjects of Mithila He was consort of their princess Sita.
Although the Lord is versatile each one conceives one aspect according to their relation with Him. Thus the Lord possesses multi-faceted personality. The important thing is to re-establish our relation with Him and this is possible by pure devotional service, without hidden material agendas.
MORAL: "Lord Rama conquered the worlds by Truth, the poor people by His charitable nature, the teachers and sages by His service attitude, devotees by his wonderful pastimes, and the enemies by His mighty bow." - (Ayodhya Khanda 12.29)

LAXMAN: The pinnacle of loyalty

RAMAYANA REVELATION DAY 9
LAXMAN: The pinnacle of loyalty
Laxman: He was not an ordinary human being, In fact he was a manifestation of Sheshnaga. He was the only person who could kill Indrajit, Ravana’s powerful son who had even defeated Rama. His devotion and love for his brother Rama was legendary
The King Dasharatha,
Was blessed with four sons.
Who were spotless in their character
And was favourite of everyone's
Although the four
Championed their own charm.
Yet all of them
Were greatly devoted to Lord Ram!
Laxman especially,
addressed himself as His servant.
And by his actions
He proved himself as a fervent.
When Ram was banished
He didn't let him alone,
Rather he accompanied him,
With his body, mind and soul.
He had anger,
but for what is against Ram
Every obstruction therefore
Were dealt with anger an arm.
He went to threaten Sugriv
Carrying a sharp sword
And chastised him and sized him up
When he failed to act his word.
Lord Ram, The Supreme Lord
With love, kept him so close.
And Laxman as a faithful devotee
Serves him wherever he goes.
MORAL:
Laxman's character exemplifies service,
And the ways that we must serve.
And do everything for the pleasure of the Lord
And that's how we show our Love

KEIKEYI: Mother of Bharat Maharaj. An Important Step Mother

RAMAYANA REVELATION DAY 8
KEIKEYI: Mother of Bharat Maharaj. An Important Step Mother
# Keikeyi was a very powerful queen of Maharaj Dasrath.
# In a terrible fight with Sambarasura, an arrow hit a slot on his chariot wheel and chariot began to wobble, Keikeyi, stooped and inserted her finger into the slot to keep the wheel coming off. The entire weight of the chariot rested on the brave queen’s fragile finger. Dasrath’s eyes welled up with tears at the sight of his wife enduring excruciating pain just to save him. Because of this act of Keikeyi, Dasrath could win the war.
# If service is like a flower and genuine service attitude is like fragrance, then gratitude is like a bee that hovers over it.
# Relationships thrive when genuine service is acknowledged by active gratitude. Keikeyi was happy to serve and Dasrath was grateful to receive. She provided assistance and he gave appreciation.
# It is said that Keikeyi was such a pure devotee of Lord Rama that she even agreed to leave her dignity. She agreed to be an instrument in the sequence of events which led to Lord Rama's exile and bring disrespect to her.
# A wonderful example of service where Queen Keikeyi sacrificed her respect and dignity for Lord’s service.
# When Manthra gave the news of Lord Rama's Abhishek to Keikeyi, she was unable to contain her joy, she and rushed toward Manthra , “ O Manthara, thank you! This is the best news I have received in my entire life! Rama is going to become the king of Ayodhya! This is nectar to my ears! Thank you Manthra once again. You have filled my life with immense pleasure." . She had such a pure mind at this time that she saw no difference between Rama and Bharat.
# The tragedy of Kaikeyi lies in the rejection of her awesome sacrifice by the very person for whom she went through fire: her son Bharata.
# But Manthra was able to manipulate her by giving many arguments. We should be very careful of our association, good association can take us on a beautiful path on the other hand bad association is powerful enough to drag us to hell. The poison of distrust had been injected, which changed Keikeyi’s loyalty toward Dasaratha. Dasratha had come to Keikeyi seeking happiness and peace. But Keikeyi could only think about her own happiness as the result of her discussions with Manthra.
# When a crooked mind comes between two people, love becomes hatred and simplicity becomes duplicity. Keikeyi allowed Manthra, whose mind was more crooked then her body, to come between her husband and herself and thus permanently twist their relationship.

MORAL: Crookedness of the body is not as bad as the crookedness of the mind

Lord Hanuman: Flagbearer of true devotion

RAMAYANA REVELATION DAY 7
Lord Hanuman: Flagbearer of true devotion
# Lord Hanuman is the best example to illustrate devotion as a servant (dasyabhakti) towards Lord Rama. He was ever-ready to sacrifice even His life for the sake of His Lord. Hanuman is a combination of a servitor and a soldier.
# Lord Hanuman free of all fear, strictly celibate, extremely intelligent, a skilled poet, thoroughly learned in all Vedic literature, and the one who gave excellent strategic advice during the battle with Ravana.
# Seeing Hanuman's example, we can observe his readiness for service in all situations. Thus, whoever we are, we always have something to offer the Lord and if we serve to our fullest capacity, with all our heart and soul, it will be accepted by the Lord, as first class devotion.
# As Hanuman, made fun of squirrel's tiny effort, Lord Rama rebuked him. The message is that we should strive to do our best for the Lord, and progress in our service, we should never obstruct or belittle another’s devotional service, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem to us.
# Despite rendering so many services to Lord Rama, when the Lord offered him liberation as a reward, Hanuman did not accept it—he did not want anything in return other than more service.
# It is stated in the scriptures that wherever Rama-katha, stories about Rama, are recited, Hanuman comes to listen. He makes every endeavor to increase the bliss of Lord Ramachandra’s devotees, both in ancient times and today. The immortal Hanuman has vowed to remain in this world as long as the holy names of Rama are chanted.
# On the sacred appearance day of Lord Rama, as we hear stories of his pastimes, and chant the Hare Krishna mantra—the essence of which translates as “My dear Lord, kindly engage me in your service”—we can be sure that the great monkey warrior Hanuman is right there with us, listening and increasing our desire to serve his Lord.

MORAL: To use our talents and capacities fully in the service of the Lord.
